Description
Special Weather Statement issued August 18 at 3:33PM EDT by NWS Tallahassee FL
At 333 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Horseshoe Point, or 11 miles southwest of Cross City, moving
northwest at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Cross City, Horseshoe Point, Suwannee, Horseshoe Beach, Shamrock,
Shired Island, Eugene, and Yellow Jacket.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
