Dear Residents,
We are pleased to announce that all the components have arrived for our new automatic hydrant flushers. The Borough will be deploying four units in key areas where water is more likely to stagnate. This is an important step in our ongoing efforts to improve water circulation and reduce TTHM (Total Trihalomethane) levels throughout the system.
The hydrant flushers are scheduled for installation on Monday, August 4th. To minimize any disruption, they will operate overnight at a slow and steady rate.
In addition, the Borough will be installing upgraded water meters at various locations across town over the next 8 weeks. These new meters include pressure sensors, which will help us monitor and maintain consistent water pressure throughout our 14.3 miles of water lines.
We are also actively planning additional upgrades to our water system, with some solutions currently awaiting permit approval from the PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
