Heat Advisory issued July 27 at 1:15AM EDT until July 27 at 7:00PM EDT by NWS Tallahassee FL
* WHAT...For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 112
expected. For the Extreme Heat Watch, dangerously hot conditions
with heat index values up to 114 possible.
* WHERE...Portions of Big Bend and Panhandle Florida and south
central and southwest Georgia.
* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, from noon EDT /11 AM CDT/ today to 7
PM EDT /6 PM CDT/ this evening. For the Extreme Heat Watch, from
Monday afternoon through Monday evening.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events, particularly for those
working or participating in outdoor activities. Hot temperatures
and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sunshine, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening.Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible.
