Description
Earlier today, Tarentum Police responded to a situation at 606 East 8th Avenue involving a barricaded individual. Upon arrival, our officers attempted to make contact and negotiate with the subject, but he was unresponsive.
Due to the nature of the incident, we requested assistance from the Harrison Police Department, who responded quickly and provided valuable support. At approximately 3:45 PM, Allegheny County SWAT arrived on scene and successfully took the individual into custody around 5:30 PM without further incident.
We are grateful for the cooperation of neighboring departments and the professionalism of all involved. There is no ongoing threat to the public, and the area has been cleared.
We thank the community for their patience and for avoiding the area during the incident.
