Description
Tarentum Borough has received the new Automatic Hydrant Flushers, which will be installed over the next two weeks to improve water quality in areas with limited circulation.
Installation Locations:
Two flushers will be installed near Davidson Avenue.
Two flushers will be installed behind Duster’s Funeral Home.
These devices are designed to automatically flush small amounts of water during overnight hours, specifically between 11:00 PM and 3:00 AM, to avoid any disruption to residents.
Why We’re Doing This:
Some areas of our water system have “dead ends,” where water can sit and stagnate. By circulating water more consistently, these automatic flushers help reduce the formation of Total Trihalomethanes (TTHMs) and other byproducts, improving overall water quality and safety.
