Description

Starting today, and continuing every Monday for the next four weeks, the Borough will be conducting water distribution blowoffs at key locations to help circulate stagnant water in the system.

This flushing is a temporary measure to improve water quality and reduce TTHM (Total Trihalomethanes) levels until our automatic hydrant flushers arrive, expected in approximately four weeks. Once installed, these automatic units will maintain regular circulation on a scheduled basis.

Flushing will typically occur between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM on Mondays.

Blowoffs and hydrants will be flushed slowly and carefully to avoid pressure fluctuations and minimize the potential for discolored or brown water. If you do notice discoloration, we recommend briefly running cold water from a lower-level faucet until it clears.

Once the automatic flushers are installed, they will be programmed to operate in the late evening or early morning to further reduce any disruption to residents.

Flushing Locations Include:
Intersection of Conwell Avenue and Davidson Street
Cedar Street (blowoff)
Constitution Street (blowoff)
Park Street (blowoff)
Highland Street (blowoff)

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to improve the overall quality of our water system.
