Village of Tannersville Announces Round 2 of Downtown Revitalization Fund
TANNERSVILLE, NY — The Village of Tannersville is pleased to announce the launch of Round 2 of the Downtown Revitalization Fund (DRF), a grant program designed to support small-scale investments that enhance the economic vitality and appearance of Tannersville’s downtown. With $73,000 in remaining grant funds, this round will focus exclusively on Minor Exterior Projects and Business Assistance. Building Renovation projects will not be eligible for funding in this round.
“We’ve already seen the power of the DRF to transform individual properties and contribute to the momentum of our broader revitalization,” said Mayor Lee McGunnigle. “This new round allows us to continue that progress with a specific focus on high-impact, cost-effective improvements and small business support.”
Under the Minor Exterior Projects category, applicants may request between $10,000 and $25,000 in funding. These funds may be used to support exterior painting, signage, lighting, and other minor repairs or upgrades that improve the curb appeal of commercial buildings. Projects must not exceed 60 percent of the total project cost, and applicants are required to provide a minimum 40 percent match. Business Assistance grants are available in amounts ranging from $5,000 to $20,000, with the same matching requirement. Eligible activities under this category include the purchase of permanent commercial equipment and fixtures that are essential to business operations. The equipment must have a useful life of at least one year and a minimum acquisition cost of $2,000 per unit.
To help property and business owners better understand the program requirements, application process, and what makes a proposal competitive, the Village and its program consultant, LaBella Associates, will host a virtual information session on Tuesday, May 27th at 12:00 PM. The Zoom link for the session is available on the Downtown Revitalization Initiative page of the Village of Tannersville’s website at www.tannersvilleny.org/tannersvilledri. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about eligible projects, match expectations, and lessons from previous application rounds.
Applications are due no later than Friday, June 27th at 3:00 PM. Interested applicants are encouraged to review the full DRF Administrative Plan and application materials, which are also available on the Village website.
