Description
The National Weather Service is forecasting severe weather for the Tarentum area beginning Tuesday afternoon, April 29, and continuing into the evening. Expected conditions include heavy rainfall, wind gusts up to 50–60 mph, steady winds near 40 mph, possible large hail, and a slight chance of isolated tornado activity.

Fallen trees and power lines
Disruptions to electric service
Dangerous travel conditions
How to Prepare:
Charge Electronics: Ensure that mobile phones, laptops, and other essential devices are fully charged before the storm.
Prepare an Emergency Kit: Stock up on non-perishable food, drinking water, necessary medications, first-aid items, flashlights, and fresh batteries.

Secure Outdoor Property: Move or firmly anchor outdoor furniture, trash cans, and other loose items.
What to Do During the Storm:

Tarentum Borough typically restores power within 2 hours or less when the issue is within our local system. However, if the outage is caused by a disruption to the feed from West Penn Power, like we experienced yesterday(April 28), we must wait for their crews to make repairs before we can fully restore service.
Restoration may take longer than usual in the event of widespread outages.
