RE: Internet Scams

Do not be a victim of internet phone scam.

There are several ongoing internet and phone scams. These involve overdue due taxes, past due court fines, Pa. Turnpike tolls, deliveries from the U.S. Post Office or from Amazon being unable to be delivered.

Some scams included a message from your banking institution or credit card company reporting an issue with your account, allegedly reporting a breach of your account, and require you to verify your information.

Some scams involve the victim receiving a phone call from an out of state/country police department or court reporting the arrest and detention of a loved one, requiring you to pay the fine or bail to help out your family member.

All of these messages or contacts are scams. If you have a concern about your credit card or banking activities, contact your institution through their known phone numbers or contact information. You are also encouraged to discuss any of these situations with your police department if you believe you are being scammed.
