Description
Today, Borough Manager Dr. David W.
Bolton accepted checks totalling $132,522 from Doug Lillich of J.A. Myers Home for matching funds towards the proposed playground grant submitted to the DCNR earlier this month. The grant for $178,000 would provide a new 3 phase playground including a Tot Lot, jungle gyms, and swing sets for various ages and abilities (ADA). The Borough is excited to partner with J.A. Myers to provide our community with these recreational facilities.

To date, the Borough has received multiple grants totalling over $50,000 in cash, services, and products to improve the Rec Park. Later this year, a 9 hole disc golf course will be installed from a County Commissioner grant (the second of such grants), as well as two walking bridges for the park paths and a small gazebo to rest while enjoying the scenery. Consider renting our newly renovated pavilion for family events and playing on our new sand volleyball court (partnered with Warehouse Rocks). We have also planted 2 acres of wildflower fields and over 600 various trees in the park this past year.

More good things to come this year! Thank you for the opportunity to serve.

Dr. David W. Bolton, PhD, MBA, CBO
