Description
Governor Josh Shapiro ordered United States and Commonwealth flags on all Commonwealth facilities, public buildings, and grounds in Westmoreland County at half-staff immediately today, April 7, 2025, to honor Captain Carl J. Watson of Monessen Volunteer Fire Department who died on Friday, April 4, 2025. The flags shall be lowered to half-staff until sunset on Monday, April 14, 2025. All Pennsylvania residents are invited to participate in this tribute.
As such, in honor of Captain Watson, Abbottstown Borough will lower its flag on Center Square at dusk today. Thanks to Flagmaster Jason Duvall for this reminder.
