YORK WEATHER TODAY FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE:
Rain this morning will not bring a severe threat. Thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and evening. Damaging winds and hail will be the main hazards in severe thunderstorms.
Severe thunderstorm risk is maximized in the southwestern quadrant of central Pennsylvania during the afternoon and early evening.
The heaviest rainfall will be across portions of the Endless Mountains, where localized rainfall accumulations could exceed 1.50” today into early Thursday morning.
Enhanced runoff from rainfall coupled with melting snow and potential for ice jams will enhance the risk of flooding across the northern tier of central Pennsylvania.
