Description
Red Flag Warning issued March 4 at 4:35AM CST until March 4 at 7:00PM CST by NWS Houston/Galveston TX

...High to Critical Fire Danger...

.After areas of scattered morning rain moves out of the area, much
drier and windy conditions will be ushered in from the west. Fuels
remain a limiting factor for fire danger, but the relative
humidity values should fall into the teens to low 20s today and
wind gusts to 30 to 45 mph will quickly spread any wildfires that
start. Gradually improving conditions are anticipated later this
evening as winds diminish and humidities trend upward.

The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a
Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from 10 AM this morning to 7 PM CST this evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...Madison, Walker, Brazos, Grimes, Montgomery,
Waller, Inland Harris, Fort Bend, Inland Brazoria, Inland
Galveston, Coastal Harris, Coastal Jackson, Coastal Matagorda,
Coastal Brazoria, Coastal Galveston, Matagorda Islands,
Brazoria Islands and Galveston Island.

* TIMING...From 10 AM this morning to 7 PM CST this evening.

* WINDS...West 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 18 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any wildfires that start could rapidly increase in
size and intensity, and move quickly.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures will
create explosive fire growth potential.
