The National Weather Service in League City has issued a
* Special Marine Warning for...
Galveston Bay...
* Until 215 PM CST.
* At 133 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
waterspouts was located over northwestern Galveston Bay, moving
northeast at 35 knots.
HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to nearly 50 knots, and small
hail.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
higher winds and suddenly higher waves.
* Locations impacted include...
Smith Point, Galveston Bay, Eagle Point, Trinity Bay, The Texas
City Dike, and northwestern East Galveston Bay.
Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.
Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.
