Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 26 at 8:24PM EDT until June 26 at 8:30PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 824 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 6
miles west of Blairsville to near Lawson Heights, or along a line
from 10 miles north of Latrobe to near Latrobe, moving east at 40
mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and possible tornado.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Greensburg, Latrobe, McChesneytown-Loyalhanna, Lawson Heights, New
Alexandria, Youngstown and Crabtree.
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing
widespread damaging winds.
Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek
shelter immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a
well-built structure.
Intense thunderstorm lines can produce brief tornadoes and
widespread significant wind damage. Although a tornado is not
immediately likely, it is best to move to an interior room on the
lowest floor of a building. These storms may cause serious injury
and significant property damage.
