* Until 615 PM EST.
* At 527 PM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line
extending from East Bangor to Palmerton, moving southeast at 30
mph.
HAZARD...Flash freeze on roads. Intense bursts of heavy snow and
gusty winds leading to blowing snow and visibility
rapidly falling to less than one-quarter mile. Wind gusts
up to 35 mph.

IMPACT...Dangerous and life-threatening travel conditions are
expected to develop rapidly in the warning area.

Northeast Extension between mile markers 61 and 77.
Interstate 78 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 68 and 76.
Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 12.
Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 310 and 314.
Interstate 80 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 7.
Locations impacted include...
Allentown, Easton, Lehighton, Bethlehem, Forks, Northampton, East
Stroudsburg, Wilson, Washington, Nazareth, Palmerton, Bangor,
Slatington, High Bridge, Pen Argyl, Wind Gap, Bath, Belvidere,
Harmony, and Oxford.
Wet roadways will quickly freeze. Black ice will cause roads,
bridges, and overpasses to become slick and dangerous. Slow down and
be prepared for a sudden loss of traction.
Reduce speed and turn on headlights! During snow squalls, the
visibility may suddenly drop to near zero in whiteout conditions.
Consider avoiding or delaying travel until the snow squall passes
your location. If you must travel, use extra caution and allow extra
time. Rapid changes in visibility and slick road conditions may lead
to accidents.
