High Wind Warning issued January 9 at 2:01PM EST until January 9 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Pittsburgh PA
* WHAT...For the High Wind Warning, southeast winds 30 to 40 mph
with gusts up to 70 mph. For the Wind Advisory, southwest winds 25
to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
* WHERE...Portions of southwest and western Pennsylvania and
northern West Virginia.
* WHEN...For the High Wind Warning, until 7 PM EST this evening. For
the Wind Advisory, from 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.
Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and
avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution
if you must drive.
