Description
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch ahead of today's storm. The Flood Watch will begin at 1 pm today and go through Friday morning.
Key Highlights:
Periods of rain will begin this afternoon and continue through midday Friday. Storm rainfall totals of 1-3" are expected, with locally higher amounts that may lead to flooding.
Winds are expected to increase to 20-30 mph late tonight. Gusts around 40 to 50 mph are expected Friday through Friday night. A narrow squall line may develop, bringing localized wind gusts up to 60mph, which could cause downed trees and power outages.
The passage of the front will bring a sharp drop in temperature that will lead to quick freezing of wet surfaces causing potentially hazardous travel.
Widespread minor coastal flooding is expected to impact the high tides Friday morning and afternoon, which may cause flooding along the tidal portions of the Delaware River
