Calling Photographers of all Ages!
The 47th District — home to the townships of Conewago, East Manchester, Hellam and Springettsbury, and the boroughs of Hallam, Manchester, Mount Wolf and Wrightsville — is a beautiful and vibrant community.
Help us showcase its rich history, natural beauty, and economic opportunities through YOUR eyes. If you reside in the 47th and have photographs that capture the spirit of the 47th, we’d love to see them! Please send in your photos and help us celebrate everything that makes this district special.
Photo submissions are open from Sept. 24 through Nov. 3, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
Public voting begins Nov. 7 and ends Nov. 29 at 11:59 p.m. You can cast a star rating vote for any or all photos. Please don't vote more than one time for each photo. Photos that qualify for the contest will be displayed on a separate webpage during the voting period. Check back here on Nov. 7 for the voting page URL.
The photograph with the most votes/stars will win first place, followed by second and third place for the next highest vote-earners.
Awards Include
• 1st place: A citation signed by Representative Joe D'Orsie, photo enlarged and framed in the District Office and a $40 gift certificate to a local business/eatery.
• 2nd place: Your photo enlarged and framed in the District Office and a $25 gift card to a local eatery/café.
• 3rd place: Your photo enlarged and framed in the District Office and a $15 gift card to a local eatery/café.
Criteria:
• Photos need to represent one of these two categories:
o Local landscape/nature.
o Architecture: bridges/historic buildings/artistic shots of neighborhoods.
• Photos must be from the 47th District.
• Photos must have been taken between August 2024 through Nov. 3, 2025.
• Photos must be in jpg or png format and at least 300 dpi/high resolution. If you use your cell phone, check the camera settings to ensure the proper resolution is selected. Check out these tips to figure out if your image will print in high resolution when enlarged to printable size 16.5" x 23" to be framed.
Rules:
• Photo(s) must be submitted by the photographer. Entrants must reside in 47th District and have full rights to any photographs submitted.
• A maximum of two photos can be submitted per photographer for consideration.
• Photographers cannot vote for their own photos.
• Minor editing/enhancement to photo(s) is permitted but major editing/significant modifications are not acceptable.
• People's faces are not allowed to be included in any photo.
• No vulgarity/inappropriate images, and no images that are defamatory, obscene, truly threatening, violate intellectual property or other laws, contain any form of advertising or solicitation, or which incite lawless action or illegal conduct.
• The same winner cannot win more than one award. Meaning, if the same winner earns the highest votes for both first and second place, winner will receive first place award and a different photographer with the next highest votes would be awarded second place.
• When submitting photos, include your name, address, telephone and image description/title in the email.
• Entrants under the age of 18 must submit a signed Parent Permission Form to validate their entry.
• By submitting photos, entrants agree to the contest's rules and criteria and that they are freely licensing, without compensation, all uses of the images in perpetuity by District 47, including posting the photos to the website, social media pages, or any other electronic and printed media. Photographers are given credit for their photos.
