I am teaming up with with Reps. Joe D’Orsie and Wendy Fink to host a Free License Plate Replacement event.
When: Thursday, May 1, from 5-7 p.m.
Where: York Area United Fire and Rescue, 50 Commons Drive, York, PA 17402
If your license plate is hard to read because it is peeling, blistering, fading, or discolored, you may qualify for a free replacement. Local officers will be on site to inspect plates and check car seats to make sure they are properly installed.
My team, along with the offices of Rep. D’Orsie and Rep. Fink, will be available to help you complete the necessary PennDOT forms. If your plate qualifies, a new one will be mailed directly to your home.
Additional Information:
- If you already have a personalized plate, you will receive a replacement with the same letters and numbers for free. We will make sure to note this on the form and take the required photo for PennDOT.
- If your vehicle has a specialty plate, such as a Wildlife Resource or alumni plate, you will receive the same type of plate for free. Please note that if your plate type is no longer available, you will receive a standard plate at no cost. For example, owl plates are no longer available, and otter plates are being replaced with Eastern hellbender plates.
- If you have a standard plate but want to keep the same number, you will need to apply and pay for a personalized plate. This is the only scenario where a fee applies.
What to Bring:
You must bring your valid driver’s license and vehicle registration. If the registration includes more than one name, all listed individuals must be present with their driver’s licenses.
