York County SPCA Hosts Low-Cost Microchip Clinic to Help Reunite Lost Pets with Their Families
York, PA – March 28 – The York County SPCA will offer a low-cost microchip clinic on Saturday, April 12 to help pet owners protect their beloved animals. The event will be held at the York County SPCA, located at 3159 Susquehanna Trail N. from 9 a.m. until noon.
Every year, thousands of pets go missing, and sadly, many are never reunited with their families. A microchip is a simple, safe, and effective way to increase the chances of a lost pet finding its way home. This small, rice-sized device is implanted just under the skin and contains a unique identification number that is registered to the pet owner’s contact information. This microchip clinic offers an affordable alternative to microchipping at a veterinarian’s office, which can cost upwards of $50 on average.
“At the York County SPCA, we see firsthand the heartbreaking reality of lost pets who never find their way back home,” said Kristen Dempwolf, Communications Director at the York County SPCA. “Microchipping is a crucial tool in ensuring that pets have the best chance of being reunited with their families if they ever become lost.”

The microchip clinic will be open to the public, with a cost of just $20 per pet. Pre-registration is required.

Multiple Animals

Attendees should plan to arrive at least five minutes before their scheduled appointment start time. Please note: If your pet has issues with aggression, extreme fear, being handled by strangers, etc., the YCSPCA recommends microchipping them at your veterinarian’s office.
