Women for a Healthy Environment (WHE) and the Allegheny County Conservation District (ACCD) are hosting a lead soil testing pop-up event at Wilmerding Park this Saturday May 31st. Lead poisoning is still a very serious problem in many communities in Allegheny County. This event is to help spread awareness about lead poisoning and give residents the opportunity to have their soil tested for lead. High concentrations of lead in the soil can be harmful to children, especially when they are playing in the soil and then putting their hands in their mouths.
WE WILL ALSO HAVE A FOOD TRUCK FROM BIG LOU'S, AS WELL AS FACE PAINTING AND SPIN ART FOR THE KIDS!!!
