Get ready to wag, wiggle, and give back! The York County SPCA is hosting its annual Community PAW’ty on Friday, May 2, from 5 to 8 p.m., and it’s going to be a fur-filled celebration of Give Local York, the biggest day of giving in our county.
Hosted right at the shelter at 3159 N. Susquehanna Trail, this free, family-friendly bash is the paw-fect way to support homeless pets while enjoying a fun Friday evening with your pack.
What to Expect
This year’s PAW’ty is packed with tail-wagging fun:
• Food & Treats from Stoney’s Burgers and Fries, Premium Shaved Ice, and Bite Delight LLC
• Face-painting, balloon art from Balloons of Joy PA, and a petting zoo
• An animal art show featuring pieces created by shelter pets
• A heartwarming Adopt-a-Plushie station with “adoption certificates” for your new cuddly companion
• Pet-friendly vendors like LucyCares, Michele the Painter, and For the Love of Bea’s, offering jewelry, apparel, and more
Whether you're coming for the snacks, the crafts, the critters, or the cause—there’s something for everyone!
How Does It Work
While the event is free to attend, face-painting, balloon art and the petting zoo will require a $5 suggested donation. The adopt-a-plushie event will require a $20 suggested donation. All funds raised will be applied to our Give Local York fundraising efforts.
Important Reminders
1. We will have parking available anywhere in our main lot but it is limited. We recommend carpooling if possible. Please exercise caution and watch for pedestrians.
2. We encourage you to bring chairs and blankets to sit in the grass to eat your treats from the food trucks.
3. Please bring cash and/or credit card for the various activities we will have at the event, as well as the food trucks.
4. While we will not be processing adoptions that night, we will have adoptable dogs as special guests during the event!
5. As much as we love to see our alums, please do not bring your pets from home.
“The Community PAW’ty is a chance to celebrate our mission, connect with our community, and raise critical funds to support the animals in our care,” said Steven Martinez, Executive Director of the York County SPCA. “Every dollar raised during Give Local York helps us provide shelter, medical care, and second chances to thousands of animals each year.”
