You’re invited to join us at the Watershed Alliance’s annual meeting this Tuesday, April 22, beginning at 7 p.m., at the Adams County Agricultural and Natural Resources Center, 670 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg (the “Ag Center”).

We’ll hold a short business meeting to update everyone on how we’ve been doing with our initiatives such as pathogen testing, stream-water testing, and the distribution of free native seedlings.

After the business meeting we’ll hear from Brandon J. Fleming, a hydrologist and groundwater specialist who works at the U.S. Geological Survey’s (USGS) Pennsylvania Water Science Center in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.

The importance of groundwater as a water source in Adams County cannot be overstated. About 90% of our water is supplied through our groundwater aquifers. Brandon’s presentation will center on groundwater resources in Adams County, how groundwater is measured, how it relates to stream flow, the impacts of the current drought, and many other aspects of our groundwater. We look forward to learning more about this vital resource.

There are 20 wells being monitored in Adams County. They have a story to tell, and Brandon is going to tell it at our annual meeting. So please join us for this important and informative presentation.
