In 1995, Chuck contracted a near fatal pneumococcal bloodborne bacterial infection, resulting in the amputations of both legs below the knees, all eight fingers and half of both thumbs. Against the odds, he survived this ordeal, confronted his limitations and lives a fulfilling and productive life.
