New Freedom Parade Guidelines
Parade Date - Saturday, July 5, 2025
Step Off Time - 4:30 pm
Assembly Point - By 3:30 pm. - Corner of Main Street and S. Shaffer Street
Parade Route - Main Street to Broad Street to High Street ends at New Freedom Borough Office
Judging Stand - Main Street
Registration - 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm July 5 at New Freedom Community Center

Parade Entries:
There is no entry fee to participate in the parade.
You will have an opportunity to perform in front of the judges’ table, please try to limit your performance to under 5 minutes.
If a sound system is used, please point speakers to the side of the float to ensure no disruption to preceding and trailing entrants.
Units may not contain an element higher than 16 feet to provide clearance of overhead wires
All safety precautions should be taken for riders in vehicles, floats, etc.
Alcoholic Beverages are prohibited in the parade assembly area or parade route.
Solicitation of funds is prohibited
If throwing candy, please throw it underhanded – away from the vehicle. DO NOT THROW ANY OTHER SUBSTANCE FROM VEHICLE (i.e., cigarettes, trash, etc.)
The New Freedom Parade is family friendly, and all floats and performances should be appropriate for all ages.
Be aware of groups in front of you; they may stop to perform.
Parade Entries with Animals.
Participants must clean up after your animals.
All dogs must be kept on leashes.
Parade marshals may remove any person or unit that, in their discretion, violates parade regulations.
Prizes:
Prize Winners will be announced at the Lion’s Club Carnival at approximately 7:30 pm on July 5, 2025. Each category has a cash prize of up to $100.
Judging Parameters
Any group or unit with more than 1 vehicle or marcher will be considered one entry.
Government entries are not eligible for prizes.
Any unit working for the crowd (selling drinks, snacks, trinkets, etc. will not be eligible for prize money and must provide a copy of your vendor’s permit (if needed) before the parade).
The decision of the Parade Judges will be considered final.
This event was posted by Shrewsbury Township. Shrewsbury Township is solely responsible for this event and unless specifically indicated, no other community or individual utilizing Savvy Citizen is sponsoring, responsible for, or endorsing this event.
