"Were You There?" Edinboro Area Historical Society's Then and Now Program
No, "Were You There" doesn't refer to that age old hymn that we all remember from our childhood. It connects the pictures of Edinboro taken in the 1940s and 1950s with current photos taken of the same scene.
Join your fellow society members, friends, neighbors and those folks visiting Edinboro for the EdinHi Reunion that same weekend for a great trip down memory lane.
Follow EAHS vice-president and historian Jay Marcinowski as he leads the audience through views of what Edinboro looked like back when most of us were in grade school or junior high and what we'd see in the same location today. Also, view a film or two promoting Edinboro State Teacher's College and our fine community, see if you can identify the Greek organizations as well as the cars in the early 1950 homecoming parade and watch for other interesting activity around this seemingly quiet village.
The date of the June public meeting has been changed from the typical Wednesday night to Thursday the 27th so those attending the EdinHi Reunion on Friday evening the 28th will be able to have a double Edinboro experience.
The Edinboro Area Historical Society's June public meeting will be held on Thursday the 27th in the municipal building's council chamber at 124 Meadville Street. The business meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. and the "Were You There" photo tour with Jay Marcinowski will begin at 7:00. Refreshments will be provided.
