The National Aviary will be here to kick-off the 2023 Children's Summer Reading Program. This brand new program will be using hands-on observation techniques and interactive activities. The children will learn what characteristics make a bird, well, a bird! The children will also learn what makes different families of birds unique. They will also learn what birds need to survive in different habitats, and how birds thrive in even the most extreme environments.
Everyone attending will receive their Summer Reading Bag (to color for a contest) and everything they need to be successful this summer. The bag will contain a reading log, log stickers, special Summer Reading bookmarkers, and The Togetherness Times puzzle newspaper. Every bag will also contain a ticket to choose a book to keep. We have a grand prize for kids ages 0-3 and one kids older than 3. And one lucky winner will get a special created animal picture.
