Details
The White Haven Borough Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 24,
2026, at 7:00 P.M. at the White Haven Municipal Building, 312 Main Street, White Haven, PA
to consider the following: (1) amending Chapter 10, Fire Prevention and Fire Protection, Part 5 (Reimbursement of Costs for Emergency Services), to update the authority of volunteer
emergency services organizations to establish fees, bill for emergency response services, and
pursue collection of eligible costs; clarify that the Borough has a limited role in those billing and collection activities; and reaffirm the Borough's authority to enforce its ordinances. (2) an
ordinance amending Chapter 5, Code Enforcement, Parts 3 and 4, to establish a Rental Property Compliance Certification Program; provide for rental property registration, landlord
certifications, voluntary inspections, enforcement procedures, penalties, and related
requirements; and repeal all inconsistent provisions. (3) an ordinance amending the White Haven Borough Code of Ordinances, Chapter 18, Motor Vehicles and Traffic, Part 4, Parking
Regulations, Section 404, Parking Prohibited in Certain Locations, Certain Days and Hours. The purpose of the proposed amendment is to revise the designated no-parking day associated with refuse collection on Northumberland Street between Church Street and Towanda Street. The amendment will change the designated refuse collection day from Monday to Wednesday, and the corresponding parking restrictions will be amended to reflect this change. In the event that the regularly scheduled refuse collection day is changed due to a recognized holiday or other schedule adjustment by the Borough's refuse collection provider, the applicable no-parking restrictions shall automatically apply on the rescheduled collection day in lieu of the regularly designated day. The amendments are available for inspection at the White Haven Borough Municipal Building. The hearing will be followed by the regular meeting of Council at which time the amendments will be considered for adoption.
