NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING & WATER PROJECT UPDATE

Location: 14 N Main Street, Cattaraugus, NY 14719
The Village of Cattaraugus Board of Trustees will hold a Public Hearing on Friday, August 28, 2026, to discuss proposed changes to the Village's water and sewer rate structure and related amendments to the Village Water Law.
The Village will present the proposed rate structure, explain how it compares with the current system, and review examples showing the potential impact on customer bills.
Residents and property owners will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide public comment regarding the proposed changes.
Water Project Update
The Village will also provide an update on the ongoing water system improvement project, including the current status of the project, planned improvements to the Village's water infrastructure, and anticipated upcoming work.
As part of this update, the Village will also discuss proposed improvements to the water billing and payment process, including options to:
Accept credit and debit card payments
Provide online payment options
Make it easier and more convenient for customers to pay their water and sewer bills
The meeting is intended to give residents an opportunity to understand both the proposed rate changes and the larger improvements being made to the Village water system.
No final action on the proposed rate changes will be taken until the Village Board has received and considered public input.
Residents are encouraged to attend, learn more, ask questions, and provide comments.
