🚂 BIG BOY 4014 IS PASSING THROUGH WHITE HAVEN July 1st! 🚂
The legendary Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest operating steam locomotive, will be traveling through our area Wednesday July 1st. We are excited to welcome railfans, residents, and visitors who want to witness this historic event.
As you enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, the White Haven Borough Police Department reminds everyone that safety must remain the top priority.
⚠️ Please remember:
• Stay off railroad tracks, bridges, and railroad property.
• Only view the train from designated public areas.
• Obey all railroad crossing signals and warning devices.
• Never attempt to beat the train at a crossing.
• Keep children close and supervised at all times.
• Remain alert and avoid distractions such as phones and headphones.
• Follow instructions from police officers, railroad personnel, and event staff.
✳️ Public viewing will be permitted from the White Haven Area Community Library property. However, parking is NOT permitted at the library.
Visitors must park in designated public parking areas and walk to the viewing location.
Visitors are encouraged to use the Lehigh Gorge State Park parking lots located both north and south of town and walk to viewing areas.
A train cannot stop quickly, and trespassing on railroad property is both dangerous and illegal. We want everyone to enjoy this historic visit and return home safely.
