About the Event
The Family Fishing Program is for families with little or no fishing experience. Participants learn basic fishing skills and to practice those skills while fishing during the program. The program is open to all ages, including children ages 5 and older. Those under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
PA Fish and Boat Commission and YARD (York Area Recreation Directors) are offering this FREE program to provide an opportunity for families to enjoy time fishing together. No fishing license is required to attend this program and all of the fishing gear and bait is provided for the duration of the program. Local Waterways Conservation Officers (WCOs) will be on site to discuss the exciting aspects of their jobs and offer a rare opportunity to fish alongside the officers.
Registered participants will enjoy the following:
* An introduction to fishing skills from 9-9:30AM
* On the water fishing time from 9:30-Noon
* Refreshments sponsored by YARD
