After this winter, there is a significant amount of stone and debris on Borough streets that needs to be swept—not only for cleanliness, but also for the safety of motorists, especially motorcycles.
Street sweeping will take approximately 2 weeks, depending on weather conditions:
Week 1: Alleys will be cleaned by the Borough Maintenance crew. (Starting this week and finishing next week)
Week 2: Main roads will be swept by a contractor. (Starting Tuesday, April 13th. This allows us to post the streets with "No Parking" signs 24 hours prior to sweeping)
Main roads will be completed by quadrant in the following order:
NE → NW → SW → SE, with one quadrant done each day.
Please pay close attention to “NO PARKING” signs posted throughout town indicating when your area is scheduled. Vehicles left in restricted areas will be ticketed and towed to allow crews to properly clean the streets.
Residents are encouraged to sweep any stone or debris from sidewalks into the street before your scheduled sweeping day.
