Community members who have experienced the death of a family member or friend are invited to register for GriefShare.

Two local churches are hosting GriefShare support groups at convenient times and locations in Edinboro beginning on February 9. Edinboro Community Church will lead a daytime group on Mondays from 10 AM to noon at the Municipal Building, 124 Meadville Street. An evening group will meet on Mondays from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at McLane Church, 12511 Edinboro Road.

This nondenominational program features Christ-centered, biblical teaching that focuses on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one. The DVD-based seminar features nationally respected grief experts and real-life stories followed by a small group discussion.

A GriefShare support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal.” Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping, and gain solid support each step of the way.

The cost for the support group is $20 and includes a workbook. Participants can begin at any time and attend any or all of the sessions. Scholarships are available.
