Notice is hereby given that the Harrisville Borough Council will hold a Special Public Meeting for the limited and specific purpose of addressing elected borough offices for which the successful candidate(s) has failed to accept the position and has not been officially sworn into office.
Purpose of the Meeting:
To formally declare any elected positions from the most recent municipal election that were not accepted by the winning candidate as vacant, due to the failure of the elected individual to take the oath of office within the time required by law, pursuant to the Pennsylvania Borough Code, including but not limited to 8 Pa.C.S. §§ 901 and 903, and the oath of office requirements set forth in 8 Pa.C.S. § 1104.
The elected offices to be addressed at this meeting are as follows:
• One (1) Borough Council Member
• One (1) Borough Auditor – Four-Year Term
• One (1) Borough Auditor – Two-Year Term
Council may also consider the appointment of qualified individuals to fill any vacancies so declared, in accordance with the Pennsylvania Borough Code, including 8 Pa.C.S. § 1001 et seq.

This meeting is being conducted in accordance with the Pennsylvania Borough Code and the Pennsylvania Sunshine Act, 65 Pa.C.S. §§ 701–716. Official action may be taken during this meeting.
