NOTICE OF ELECTION
Notice is hereby given that the Town of Yankeetown will hold its municipal election on Tuesday,
April 7, 2026. The purpose of the municipal election is to elect the Mayor, a nd a vacant council
seat and, and any such other seat or seats that may become vacant, and to take any such other
actions as may be deemed appropriate by the City Council.
CANDIDATE QUALIFYING PERIOD
The official candidate qualifying period begins at 8:00 a.m., Monday, January 26, 2026, and ends at
12:00 p.m., Friday, January 30, 2026. Candidate qualifying will be held at The Town of
Yankeetown, Town Hall located at 6241 Harmony Ln, Yankeetown, Fl 34465.
All persons seeking election shall be a qualified elector and shall be a resident of the Town of
Yankeetown for a period of six (6) months immediately preceding qualifying. The Mayor and Town
council are elected on a nonpartisan basis by a town wide vote. The election shall be held in
accordance with the Charter of the Town of Yankeetown, Florida, and the State of Florida Election
Laws.
BOOK CLOSING
Pursuant to State Statute, the Levy County Supervisor of Elections will close the voter
registration books Saturday, March 9, 2026 for the April 7, 2026 regular election.
