Today in Conneautee Heights there was a drop in system pressure lasting around 5 minutes. A scheduled water line tap on Culbertson Drive experienced difficulty removing the tool that taps the water line under full pressure. When things go smoothly we can avoid shutting down the water line during the hours long process. Our system water pressure caused the bit to jam, not wanting to cause damage to our water main, the best course of action was to reduce line pressure and then remove the bit/cutting tool. Water pressure was returned to normal quickly, but the on-off of the valves on the water main along with opening the hydrant caused the water to get cloudy. We are flushing the hydrants and if your water is cloudy we recommend flushing the water in a sink till the water runs clear.
