Trees will finish losing their leaves this month and before it gets too cold, clearing your gutters and downspouts of leaves and debris can help prevent winter headaches. Clogged downspouts can lead to gutter overflows, resulting in stormwater collection against your foundation. Damp and flooded basements damage personal items and encourage mold growth, which is a health hazard. When cold and snow arrive, gutters may fill with ice. Snowmelt from your roof, unable to drain into a clogged gutter, may find its way into your home. Water dripping from the ceiling over your bed isn’t fun!
