SCAM ALERT: EMAIL IMPERSONATING CITY DEPARTMENT
The Bruceville-Eddy Police Department has been notified of a fraudulent email claiming to be from the “City of Bruceville-Eddy Building Department.”
The email was sent from planning.bruceville-eddy@usa.com and requests payment of an “Application Review & Approval Fee” for a construction permit. It directs the recipient to reply for wire transfer instructions and submit payment confirmation.
This is a scam attempt. The email references a specific property and permit-related information to make the request appear legitimate. Knowing your name, property address, or details about City business does not make a sender trustworthy.
If you receive this or a similar email:
• Do not reply, send money, or provide personal or financial information.
• Do not open attachments or click links.
• Call the City of Bruceville-Eddy at 254-859-5964 to verify the legitimacy of the message before taking any action.
Thank You
