Description
Public Hearing Notice – October 28, 2026

Please be advised that Wesleyville Borough Council will hold a public hearing during its regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Borough Hall to receive public comment on several proposed ordinances.

1. Volunteer Fire/EMS Responder Tax Credit Program
Council is considering the adoption of Ordinance No. 2026-005, which would establish a Volunteer Tax Credit Program for eligible volunteer fire and EMS responders serving with the Wesleyville Hose Company.

Under the proposed program, eligible first responders who meet the point requirements outlined in the ordinance would qualify for reimbursement of up to $500 in Borough property taxes and earned income taxes paid. Eligible administrative members of the department who meet the applicable point requirements would qualify for reimbursement of up to $250.

This initiative is intended to recognize, reward, and incentivize the dedicated volunteers who serve our community and respond when residents need them most. Council welcomes public comments from those who support the proposed program, as well as those who may have questions or concerns.

2. Borough-Wide 72-Hour On-Street Parking Limit and Trailer/Oversized Vehicle Restrictions
Council is also considering the adoption of Ordinance No. 2026-009, which would establish a borough-wide 72-hour on-street parking limit and restrictions on trailers and oversized vehicles.

The Borough has encountered instances in which vehicles remain parked in the same location on public streets for extended periods without being moved. These situations can interfere with essential municipal services, including street sweeping, leaf collection, pothole repairs, and access to manholes and other infrastructure. The proposed ordinance would require vehicles to be moved from their parking spaces at least once every 72 hours.

Additionally, the Borough has received complaints regarding trailers and oversized recreational vehicles, including ATVs, boats, and motor homes, being stored on public streets for extended periods. Storing these vehicles on public roadways can obstruct sightlines, affect driver visibility, clutter the streets, and limit the availability of public parking for neighboring residents.

Residents are encouraged to store personal vehicles, trailers, and recreational equipment on their own property or at an appropriate off-street storage facility whenever possible.

Public participation is encouraged. Borough Council welcomes residents to attend the hearing, ask questions, and provide comments regarding these proposed ordinances before Council considers further action.
