2027 Borough Budget Workshop
The Borough of Hatboro will hold its first 2027 Operating Budget Workshop on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, beginning at 6:00 PM at Borough Hall, 414 S. York Road.
Each year, Borough Council conducts public budget workshops to review and discuss the proposed operating budget for the upcoming year. The budget is one of the most important documents prepared by the Borough, serving as the financial roadmap that guides operations, allocates funding between departments, authorizes expenditures, and communicates priorities to our residents.
During this workshop, Borough Council will:
• Review departmental budget requests
• Discuss revenue projections for 2027
• Consider capital improvement and equipment requests
• Evaluate financial priorities and long-term planning initiatives
• Work toward the development of a balanced and responsible budget
Like many municipalities, Hatboro continues to face increasing demands for services while working within limited financial resources. A thoughtful and strategic budget process helps ensure long-term financial stability, responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, and the continued delivery of quality services to our community.
As part of the 2027 budget development process, Borough staff and the Finance Committee are focusing on:
• Reviewing and classifying revenues and expenditures
• Utilizing historical financial data to support informed decision-making
• Aligning budget recommendations with Borough goals and priorities
• Developing and updating the capital budget
• Continuing monthly monitoring and evaluation of budget performance
This workshop is open to the public, and public comment will be accepted during the designated public comment period. The primary purpose of the workshop is to allow all members of Borough Council to discuss departmental requests, provide input, and work collaboratively toward a fiscally responsible budget for 2027.
