Description
Governor Ron DeSantis has signed Executive Order 26-211, amending Executive Order 26-202, which declared a state of emergency ahead of Hurricane Isaias. Levy County is now covered by the state emergency declaration. What this means for residents: • The state can now send personnel, equipment, and supplies to Levy County to support storm preparation and response, including sandbags, generators, fuel, and flood barriers. • Price gouging protections are in effect. Report suspected price gouging to the Florida Attorney General at 1-866-966-7226. • Pharmacists may dispense up to a 30-day emergency refill of prescription medications. • The Florida National Guard and Florida State Guard stand activated to support response efforts across the state. The Town of Yankeetown is following the guidance of Levy County Emergency Management and will notify the public as information arises. A storm surge watch remains in effect for Yankeetown, with two to four feet of storm surge expected from the Aucilla River to Yankeetown. Sand and sandbags are available for residents at the water plant, 4828 HWY 40A, Yankeetown.
