Tropical Storm Isaias — Town of Yankeetown Update
The Town is monitoring Tropical Storm Isaias, which is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane before making landfall on the northern Gulf Coast late Friday or early Saturday. Yankeetown is under a storm surge watch. Conditions here are expected to deteriorate on Friday.
What the Town is doing:
• We are in direct contact with Levy County Emergency Management and following their guidance.
• A pump is being brought in to reduce some flooding from the past few days of rain.
• Town crews are clearing storm drains, securing town facilities, and fueling equipment
What you should do:
• Secure loose items around your property -patio furniture, grills, trash cans, anything that can become a projectile.
• Sign up for emergency alerts through Levy County Emergency Management if you haven't already.
