Description
Flash Flood Warning issued October 3 at 1:44PM CDT until October 3 at 4:15PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX

At 144 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain in Highway 107 between Moody and Whitson. Multiple reports have
been received of flowing water over the roadway. Between 1 and 4
inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3
inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Temple, Harker Heights, Belton, McGregor, Nolanville, Morgan's
Point Resort, Moody, Mother Neff State Park, Belton Lake, Oglesby,
Whitson, White Hall, Owl Creek, Meadow Grove, The Grove, Moffat,
Woodland, Leon Junction and Flat.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
