Tips/advice:
Daylight hours are dwindling so we remind drivers to exercise extreme caution during the morning and afternoon hours when school children are walking to and from school or using the buses. We are still experiencing several vehicles passing school buses while the red lights, stop arm and stop sign are activated. The buses in Crafton are equipped with cameras, and we are notified of the violations if we do not witness the violation firsthand. Citations are very costly whether we observe it or approve the violation from the cameras. More importantly you are putting children and yourself at risk. This is done for the safety of everyone in the community. Please stop for the school buses. If in doubt on whether you need to stop or not, play it safe and stop!
We are still in need of one more Crime Watch coordinator. If you are interested, please contact the police department.
LOCK YOUR VEHICLE AND BICYCLE!!!!!!!!!
***DO NOT LEAVE SPARE KEYS IN YOUR VEHICLE***
IT IS SUGGESTED TO NOT USE THE EXTERIOR MAIL DROP BOXES AT THE POST OFFICE AS THEY HAVE BEEN TARGETS NATIONWIDE. IF YOU ARE MAILING A CHECK/PAYMENT, PLEASE DEPOSIT THE MAIL INSIDE OF THE POST OFFICE ITSELF.
Parents, please look up the information regarding E-bikes, scooters, mopeds and dirt bikes and educate yourself and your children. Warnings have been issued and enforcement is ramping up with citations. Information can be found on previous Facebook posts by the Crafton PD or by searching online.
Curfew for juveniles (17 years old and younger). Crafton Borough ordinance chapter 94.
