Culvert Maintenance & Property Entrance Permits
Curry County reminds property owners that culverts installed for property entrances are the responsibility of the applicant/property owner to maintain and keep clear.
Properly maintained culverts are essential for allowing water to flow through ditches and drainage areas. Clogged, damaged, or improperly maintained culverts can restrict drainage and contribute to flooding and water-related damage.
Property owners are responsible for:
• Regularly inspecting and cleaning their culverts.
• Keeping culverts free of dirt, debris, vegetation, and other obstructions.
• Repairing or replacing damaged culverts.
• Maintaining the culvert so that proper drainage is not restricted.
Keeping culverts clear and in good condition helps protect roadways, property, and surrounding areas by allowing water to drain properly.
