Description
On September 12, 2026, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Taft public water system, (PWS ID No. TX2050007), to issue a boil-water notice due to a loss of water pressure caused by a water-line break.

The City has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by the public water system. The City has also provided TCEQ with laboratory test results indicating that the water no longer requires boiling before use as of September 15, 2026.

The boil-water notice is no longer in effect. Customers may resume using City water normally without boiling it.

If you have questions concerning this matter, please contact:

City of Taft
Scott L. Albert, City Manager

TCEQ requires the City to distribute the rescission notice after the underlying condition has been corrected, and satisfactory bacteriological results have been received.
