Description
Flash Flood Warning issued September 3 at 11:14PM EDT until September 4 at 12:45AM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 1114 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3.5
inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no
additional rainfall is expected. Flooded roadways and high water is
still present.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Monroeville, Greensburg, Jeannette, Vandergrift, Apollo,
Murrysville, White Oak, Irwin, Manor, Trafford, Youngwood, Delmont,
West Newton, New Stanton, Leechburg, North Apollo, West Leechburg
and Avonmore.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
