Description
Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued September 3 at 6:27PM EDT until September 3 at 6:45PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 627 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 11
miles west of Indiana to over South Park Township, or along a line
from 11 miles west of Indiana to over Gastonville, moving southeast
at 35 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Mount Lebanon, Bethel Park, Ross Township,
Monroeville, McMurray, Greensburg, McKeesport, Indiana, Jeannette,
Vandergrift, Apollo, Gastonville, Shaler Township, Plum, West
Mifflin and North Side Pittsburgh.
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing
widespread damaging winds and large hail.
