Description
Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued September 3 at 5:48PM EDT until September 3 at 6:15PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 548 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Avella, moving
northeast at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Two inch hail and 70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Washington, Canonsburg, Avella, Cecil-Bishop, Wolfdale, McGovern,
East Washington, McDonald, Houston, Claysville, Eighty Four,
Hickory, Taylorstown, West Middletown, Meadow Lands, Atlasburg,
Slovan and Midway.
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing
widespread damaging winds and dangerous hail.
